Can i use contents from Wikipedia?

I have images from Wikipedia i would love to use as a page background-image in my web app for the Community challenge. My question is, can i use these images without having to provide permissions or licence from Wikipedia?

  Good question! It looks like it depends on the image you want to use, but they provide a pretty thorough explanation of how to tell: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ten_things_you_may_not_know_about_images_on_Wikipedia

  You can also check out this site for images with creative commons licenses: https://search.creativecommons.org/ In most cases, you just have to cite where the image came from. Check out those pages for more info on specific imagery.
